Here's the report from the well teuesten ferry in the world ...
As in southern Chile no road is available in the section of the fjords, one has to overcome three options the north / south route: the first by plane from Punta Arenas to Puerto Montt (about 120 euros one way), the second in a 36 hour bus ride with overnight stop on the bumpy Ruta 40 in Argentina or even at sea with the only ferry company Navimag.

The waterway is described by many travelers as einamliges experience, but should think twice on how to spend their travel budget ... here.

The booking of the ferry Navimag

The whole story began in October as we were told that the ferry was discontinued for the time being, because the ship had to be changed.

Now we had already made our alternative plan, but then looked on the ground in Puerto Natales but in the past Navimag office, where you then told us that it but next week would then give the first ride on the new ferry north.

The choice was between four categories of cabins, double rooms in outside cabin with bathroom, double room in inside cabin with bathroom, double rooms with shared bathroom and triple in inside cabin with shared bathroom. We chose the last and cheapest version and paid 460 USD, 330 EUR for it. Included were 3 times breakfast, 2 lunches and 3 dinners provided.

The food and the crew on board

The food was as settled in the military in Selbstbediehnungmodus and the taste of the food can probably be classified at this level. 😉 Well, the main courses especially the vegetarian version was yes, though not very varied but at least taste good, the soups were ok. The gray color of the minced meat saw at least not sooo appetizing.

The salad consisted of a few snippets of green salad and then four to five pieces of cauliflower or roote beds each. The dessert was either jelly, a piece of fruit or canned fruit.

On board was a coordinator and a guide, the latter was introduced at the beginning and again seen only once when I asked him after the arrival and he had no idea.

On the first day as we drove through the fjords it has almost constantly raining so we only saw a few hills gray. When, on the second day the sun was shining, we headed out to the open sea and never returned to the fjords (explanation to follow shortly).

Entertainment except there was a bingo evening on the last day none, but oh, I forgot the TV room, where locals have bought a cheap seat and have held up their luggage with the kids themselves. In addition, a documentary from Somalia was shown. Thus, if you decide to Navimag ferry, it is recommended reading materials meet here to have Wi-Fi there is not of course.

If you have nice weather and enjoy the view of the fjords and if one is satisfied with the relatively cheap triple cabin, the Navimag ferry may well be an acceptable option, but since you're paying for a double outside cabin with bathroom 1500 USD PER PERSON, would I prefer to make this a Caribbean luxury cruise ...
