Mendoza, the wine mecca of Argentina
Since the Jesuits cultivated 500 years ago here in Mendoza the first wine, there was a very strong performance in terms of quality and quantity. The dry climate (it rains throughout the year as much as in Buenos Aires in a week!) And the Protection and melting water are the Andes offer the perfect conditions for good wines.
Course must on my trip around the world in 2014 a wine tasting not missing and the wine waiter in Maipu, near Mendoza load really about this one. On an afternoon tour 2 wine waiters (one with industrial processing and the second with traditional) and visited an olive factory.
The first goal was the Bodega Lopez, a brand that is present in all supermarkets in Argentina.
In the months of February and March As is taking place the wine Leese, I was lucky enough to see all the machines work. Here the trucks come fully loaded with grapes on.
In the first step, the grapes are freed from the stalks and dirt.
Mendoza is especially famous for red wines, both for the grape variety Malpec as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but isolated white wines are processed.
Internationally, the Argentine wines have long made a very good reputation, especially depending on currency fluctuation, they have a very good price-performance ratio.
Other economic sectors
Although of course the wines of Mendoza have made famous, the most important industry is the oil industry, as you can see on the hills the derricks that promote oil.
Furthermore, more grown agricultural products such as olives and other fruits. So we visited a factory where we got to know the process of Ölivenölproduktion and then tasted different variants such as olive oil with garlic and oregano flavor.
