Torres del Paine - Chile's most beautiful National Park
Compared with 300 competitors, the National Park of the set "towers of blue sky" as is translated from the language of Aonikenk Indians, for choice of the 8th wonder of the world by so quite a reason Chilean Patagonia to explore my world trip. And lo and behold, the weather gods were here with us!
One can almost 3 different ways to visit the park: A multi-day hike for which you have to take camping gear and supplies themselves, an all-day hike from a total of 8 hours or a guided day tour in a minivan with which one can enjoy sightseeing panoramic views of the massif from all directions. We chose here the most comfortable option and did not regret it!
The Cave of the miodon
At the beginning of the tour is to ride at that cave in which prehistoric sloth Found 1985 was.
Then we went around the mountains, which have nothing in geology with the Andes to, because they come from a different time. Strange that all around everything is flat and then project all at once the summit from the earth.
Glacier and lake Grey
Around the glacier lakes trenches are formed, as well as to the Grey, which we have explored on foot, even despite the rather high wind strength.
Then we went to lunch where we made a picnic at Lake Pehoe with a truly unforgettable view.
In very strong winds we visited the waterfall then from there you, how could it be otherwise once again had a very nice view. Even a few years ago there was a bridge across the river, but which was caused during the last great fire of a campierenden tourists, was destroyed.
Two of the peaks are called horns, the highest peak is but the snow-covered Cerro Paine Grande with 3050 meters.
The grand finale of the tour then formed from the views of the spiers from Lake Amarga, where some guanacos bathed in the nearby river.
Die im Tierwelt Torres del Paine
The stars in Torres del Paine are belonging to the camelid family guanacos no doubt. They are colored brown with black head and shoulder have a length of up to 120 cm and can be up to 100 kg. In Patagonia, they are always against the sides of the roads to be found.
Each herd consists of a male herd leader and several females with their young. They are exclusively herbivorous, feeding on herbs and grasses.
Often difficult to distinguish from the same color landscape are flightless birds of South America, the rheas.
Very common to see various Greifvögle for the course, the steppe is the perfect environment.
